I DREAMED OF THE AMAZON – A LITTLE AMAZONIAN TALE

Please take a look at my first novel which is my own adventure story about my life in Peru for a few years as well as my experiences with own business, a jungle lodge, in the Peruvian Amazon. It is also a story of love as well as the attraction to a very different culture and way of life. I love the jungle with its magic and its amazing energy. For many years I had dreamed of travelling and exploring the Amazon rainforest and through one of my travels in South America, I decided in 2012 to take my chance and live there. The story begins with my decision to venture out to Peru, a country full of colours, varieties, contrasts and ancient cultures, which is blessed with nature, but also with a darker side to it. It also reflects the problems and nightmares I was put through, and which I had encountered right from the start of building my lodge.

It wasn’t until I returned to Europe a couple of years later that I decided to put my adventures to paper. My experiences should also be a little warning to other travellers and entrepreneurs that, if one wants to start a new life, and a business, in another country which has a very different culture to the one in Europe, and the nightmares and pitfalls it could hold if one is not careful with making enough enquiries before starting such a project.
